I'm not sure about his testimony or religious status. He is the Rishwain Research Scholar at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, served as senior domestic policy analyst in the White House in 1987-1988. He is the best-selling author of Illiberal Education, The End of Racism, Ronald Reagan, The Virtue of Prosperity, What's So Great About America, and What's So Great About Christianity. He defends the believer against the atheist in his last book, noting that Christianity in particular is supported by science & high intellectual reason. He also focuses on the fact that atheists decry Christian atrocities of over 500 years ago which pale in comparison to the killing (by the "big 3") of over 100 million people by the atheists Hitler, Stalin, and Mao within a 50 year period in the 1900s...he holds up the atheist as being capable of horrendous crimes against humanity (check man's inhumanity to man).
